Down our wood

It's been a week of the rain until the weekend that takes me away from it from as much as love being out of doors but the outdoor life is the one I prefer not least when it's so relaxing.

I'm fortunate this part of the North-west Midlands has lovely countryside even woods in walking distance I can just visit and just spent time just watching nature at its own more less hectic timescale and fields to watch and birds tractors pass.

Fall 2016

Slowly waking up here after the overnight rain.
This time of the year give or take a few weeks is one of my personal favourites not least for the rich colours that vary by the hours, something living here I really appreciate being able to literally just stroll on over to the woods and fields.
Around of this time of year  I often see the local grey squirrels leaping across the trees branch by branch carefully balancing , going across the road and into our gardens burying their Winter store.
I find it really keeps my spirits up.

Rest

The bright sunny start of the week as anticipated started to fade but nonetheless it's great to be out in the fresh air away from Status updates and the like just switched off, relaxing, in your hello kitty stuff.
One advantage of being in this part of the North-west Midlands is easily access to open countryside even if some of it is uneven due to severe subsidence from Brine Extraction that caused the plant and a good number of properties around this location to sink into the ground.
Quite often you can see a variety of different birds flying overhead, moths and butterflies about over the adjacent meadowland and the swans by the canal looking rather graceful with their young.
No surprises then that's where I rush to for an hour or so of peace and quiet.
Last night I spent sometime switched off listening to  Chamber music by Fauré - I'm going through a French composers phase at the minute - care of my music player totally engrossed in it. So peaceful.

Down in our wood

Things in my wood are on the go now so I thought this week, we'd look at some pictures starting with these Bluebells that I came by while walking a few days back, covered up from bity things.

Here you can see all that lush green foliage where the birds locally have built their nests from twigs.I just love hearing birdsong.

Meanwhile over in our Meadow there's plenty of life and you can make a wish with the Dandelion

And this lovely blossom was out too

Finally in my garden  these flowers are have a great time and look so pretty.
Technical note: all shot on Canon  A470 digital compact with just a touch of exposure correction and cropping, that's all.
