Mid May updates

While the weather has been better by a long shot compared with last weeks wash out, I have been spending more time out of doors just switching off from much that remains here such as the interment of my late mothers ashes whose date has yet to be arranged and pressures from some family members to control when it can be when in reality it has to fit in around when it would cause no disturbance to anyone at a burial service and when the undertaker can attend and so on.

You can't just demand a date.

The other thing is the long running business of the two FA accounts that came about because of one being at the time subject to a mega hacking of the main site necessitating the creation of brand new one as the original was unable to be restored for several months was resolved.

I decided to delete entirely the old one as in reality there was little real reason for keeping and posting two fitting in better with my attempt to  my personal needs are taken more care of than has been the case in recent years and that whole issue of how posting and blogging at various site had really taken over my life which ironically was why I had those accounts -  to share it!

Given how this has effected me, I don't find it that surprising many young people experience similar issues with social media usage and its effect on their health.

Dear reader

Hi peoples.

I woke up with this idea for a post cos the next scheduled one would be a in a few days time but before I went to bed with Theodore, I noticed something on the Dorm Blog I want to talk about.
The first thing is while I've been doing my Math schoolwork this week, we have had a grand total of 18,814 views since the blog was started and in the last month 2,014 which is a lot of views.

People have many reasons for writing a blog, some being very much with the authors own needs such as making a dairy of their lives, interests and important events getting a great deal of satisfaction in reviewing them as time flies.

Well, that's partially true for me but another reason for writing a blog is to better inform people about some interest or aspect of your life because many do not understand it or worse still think they do on the basis of sensational stories in magazines and the popular press.

For me, it is that I wish people who encounter this blog randomly, to understand what being an adult little girl is about, like it's not  seedy, a dirty little secret, a threat to society or worse still Children's welfare.

It's an very important part of a everyday responsible life that you're engaged with that is stacked with childlike innocence, fun and a refreshing spontaneity. We also have mainstream hobbies and  a sense of humour!

As well,  many of us contribute in different ways to making lives better for others by solving scientific problems, making things people like or helping people navigate complex personal needs.

That's why having people stop over at this blog as well as other peoples too is important because it helps to break down these erroneous preconceptions so having good viewing figures matter to get the word out.

Thank you dear reader for stopping by today and if you haven't already please either spread the word about this blog or consider following it.

May Edition

So the White Rabbits have been around overnight and we're into Mae, oops May now so it's the first post of the Month and Monday is in the UK May Day so I might as well write the entry ready for today.

Seeing that Hello Kitty Colouring books had been mentioned elsewhere my thoughts went to something else such as pretty messenger style bags, cases and so on and yes a plushie to take away with you although I wouldn't miss out on taking a dolly with me anyway for company and playing with.
Going back a bit in time Saturday Morning cartoons were what we got up for between all the fuss about when we setting out to get the shopping done very much in tow with Mommy who always held my hand to keep me safe as I get lost and aren't good with road sense (still aren't either).
This American series was one I loved for the personalities, girlish appeal and yes, simple enjoyable beat music you could sing along to imagining yourself playing the tambourines with no MC rapper or keyboard in sight.

I used to record their songs on a small spool tape recorder from the television to play in the days before we had video recorders.

Pretty much the Catgirl band too!

Back then as now any part of helping me move forward benefited from making sure I had a very sore bottom as much as any instruction by itself ever would.

Warning signs

Phew that's the weekend  gone not that after a day or or of so-so weather the sun hasn't gone as while I'm typing this it is actually shining as I sip my tea.
One thing that comes into play is the extent to which any group of people feel a gathering of others needs any sense of "While you're here most of the time you should look like xxx" especially when it comes people who have influence over things like a gathering of littles.

The essence of what was said amounted to three things, firstly not withstanding some issues with "males" who may present as little girls needing to travel down to and out in more male attire to avoid undue attention or create issues with people you may rent a venue from they feel too much time is spent having arrived like that that and not being "girlie" at a Little Girls meeting

That they suggest during certain core times people be expected to dress "girlie" or risk being spoken to  or possibly barred from attending.

That they should cater for a more older age range who is looking more for dressing "girlie" opportunities.

The first thing I would say is this event has two words in it Little and Girl.

Taking the first, the thing here is more that a person is more of a mind set of some one who is younger than their age - and you attend to be and let that side out.

People may be "role playing" or they may be age regressed but this is all about a state of mind you are in and yes I can see you wouldn't want to be getting into adult work or interest talk and that takes away from people who have come to let that younger Little Girl side out.

A person may be in that mindset without necessary dressing in an overtly young more child-like way but in any event, to make things happen like put on activities, organize food  preparation does of necessarily take you out of that at certain points.

That second word is Girl.

Now, a person attending might be born and recorded as a girl and some are, you may be born male but role playing a little girl, you may be non binary or gender fluid as some of us are.

Would you seriously suggest a girl, a girl in the strictest biological sense be barred from wearing for instance jeans or dungarees because they are not "girlie" when actual girls who are children don't necessarily dress in frilly satin short dresses with lace and bows?

I see many about wearing jeans and shorts.

Are we to demand that she must wear skirts and dresses during the day to be with everyone else?

Could you only make such a restriction apply to males presenting as little girls when some may be more school girls in uniforms that aren't necessary "girlie" either even if they did have skirts?

Do you or are you even trying to bar those of us who are non binary or gender fluid from even being able to attend by prescribing our gender presentation?

What would you do if I wore a pair of shorts under a skirt as some school girls do or if I prefer to wear skorts and not skirts especially for sports? Inspect and police a 'no pants' policy?

Check for female only branded products?

You might of thought that the idea that rigid dress codes based on gender had long gone in mainstream society when women do wear trouser suits and girls may wear trousers to school but it seems to alive and in good health within us.

These ideas were the thoughts of some who do attend and who are thinking about changing the rules to make Little Girls camp more "girlie".

To want little girls camp to be little is understandable but trying to make it in effect Little Girlie camp all about being girlie and having to dress girlie as a requirement  just seems...off.

I am not so sure frankly if this was to go ahead, I would honestly want to be a part of it.

Little pink blossoms

Spring has finally sprung here at chez Jo's with what might be a warm mini season this weekend which will be welcomed  after last weekend away day trip so the layers can come off and the gingham dresses going on.

This entry is very much hot of the press as I went out this morning first thing with an idea in mind for this blog entry, put my shoes on and took a few pictures.

One I liked was that of our cherry blossoms as I just love the shade of pink they have being a highlight of year when they emerge.

That's more what I prefer.

Easter week notes

It is Easter with all the extra bits and that in but a little differently because Mom normally would of been in church for easter services and was more the lynch pin of things being as keen on old rituals as I am going back to childhood but obviously that can't happen.

Monday saw me out, not as early as Sunday as that was connected to the great leak drama what not anything like as bad as first seemed necessitating a home visit by a plumber but timed well to avoid showers plus a spot of thunder.

For as many years as I recall doing this blog there was entry around this ritual sometimes featuring the plushies and hand puppets trying to do a Grinch and steal easter but with bit by bit redecorations this year they've been rumbled!

The Grump tm is taking on some of these little roles and so was responsible for getting this years egg tying that in with the groceries with three mini white chocolate bars

He did also pick up this smaller egg with white buttons inside of it but doesn't sadly make a Tux the Penguin but given he managed that without a prompt last week we can give him pat on the back.

First off on the munchies were the white buttons being the smaller one of the two where I started on the bigger one on Monday morning after going past the school I remember well.

I also had some white Chunkies - a kind of white chocolate crunch bar from an aunt like figure in my life.

I hope people had a happy Easter.

April thoughts regarding this blog

The old account at another site has been taken down that used to link up to this blog simply because there's little real mileage in keeping something next to nobody reads and some who used to just changed their belief systems and wipe comments and followings as they don't accept the idea that different points of view are valid.

This is staying for as and when I feel inclined to post anything fresh that didn't fit in anywhere else but I have to be honest and say it's not my priority either in blogging having two others that take chunks of my time or in my overall life which really should be more around reestablishing a in real life life which includes spending more time out.

Things did get rather out of balance before the end of last year even when it just seemed "staying connected" as people put it was taking up time I needed to be actually doing things with people and places, while others wanting life documented that ironically prevented that real life activity from happening.

Given much of that stems from my actual needs including a need for rest this simply has to be however many pleas people may make.

There will some expanded posts from elsewhere in between the odd unique thing but that is how things will be going
