Getting set for Spring 2008 style!

Although this blog is entitled "Joanne's Dorm", the dorm is  the main place I am sent to when I'm really naughty and that's just a part of my life this blog is about cos it's all about how I feel, what kind of a girl I am really.
And seeing it is my birthday, I think I can start by saying I like traditional flower prints on things like skirts and dresses which what my girl friends tended to wear more especially in the Spring and Summer months cos it's good to let your skin breath a bit and  get some sunlight after Winter.
I like socks more than tights though from my teens I got used to wearing them but they work well with skirts like this and aren't much for really going sleeveless which may be to do with my issues with body image.

The day before the edition

For me with just one day to go this is so apt a playful Tomboy can become that refined pretty young lady even if chunks  of how I'm wired mean I can't do everything you expect and I still require your love  and support.

The Girl (Comic)

A special offshoot of The Eagle but for Girls:
The Eagle was a iconic British boys comic from the 1950's when boy were boys full of beans, heros and daring-do but girls then were regarded more as dainty, fragile things best kept for marriage and being of use to boys and men.
It was interesting that this comic taking some inspiration from what Women contributed during World war Two when the menfolk were on the frontline helping the War, effort showed a woman at the helm of an important role.
Girls can be aviators too!

Secrets

To say Enid Blyton wasn't an influence on me would be to miss something that overlapped the other big thing in my life boarding school life as I read one while at the other and a good number of her novels I read were about communities of children in boarding school like me, living in the country or as this series starts with children running way from uncaring and abusive even by the standards of the time adults who were responsible for them, making a new life with amazing resourcefulness.
I did eventually get the Secret Island in hardback which isn't really an adventure book in the way all the others are but more an account of their lives giving you the background to the adventures to unfold as we learn about Jack, Peggy, Mike and Nora.
The Secret of Spiggy Holes is the first adventure proper  introducing us to important people such as Prince Paul.
As with the first one it took ages to find a serviceable hardback and like the other, it didn't come with the full colour dust jacket although the images in both are replicated as frontalis so it's just an irritant not to have the actual jacket.

This is a more modern edition, the 1991 omnibus published by Mulberry of the last three novels, the Secret Mountain, Secret of Killimooin and Secret of Moon Castle being held captive in the Secret Moutain, travelling the the Killimooin Forrest where they feel a ferocious band of robbers  hangs out and exploring Moon Castle looking for ghosts at the end of night.

When things go wrong adults take over..

The warm up before the serious action
Strapping tends not to be mentioned so much as the slipper or the cane but is keenly felt.

Stopping the pouting and dress as the sissy you are

Quite often we talk other things on this blog such as "being little", interests that align more to that such as children's books, cartoons and given some of our issues with regulating emotions, spanking  although it's not by any means a focus.

This week we're going to talk something else that does matter as a part of my identity, being a Sissy, part of the mix of me.

If you are a sissy, then it's not a matter of dressing as the kid you were, often you were prevented from expressing yourself at school, in various youth movements and at home so it was all very secretive.

Now most of those constraints are over, just where do you begin in being you?

We wore rugged and sometimes itchy attire having memories at 14 wearing very itchy long trousers at school that were so irritating to my skin because they were' "the rules" but what we wanted and if we could find a moment alone we did was were girls attire because it felt softer, more comfortable and, yes very pretty.

Once we did it, we knew deep down that was what we wanted to wear.

Personally I feel as a Sissy we need to start with something like soft, satin babydolls and slips and definitely matching panties, making them a permanent part of our lives because you feel so much better in yourself for dressing the way your head always wanted.

Now of course as a Little Sissy you won't dress like your older sister might going out, but you may wear soft vests and matching patterned knickers and either plain tights or socks, knee length for school looks and ankle with cute motifs when watching tv, playing or having fun.

While you love skirts and dresses and I have lots, you'll have girls sports shorts too which if you're a bit concerned about being seen out, aren't noticed by most going about their business.

In a stew

Sometimes I get in an almighty strop shouting and pouting away for ages were no amount of words will actually stop it and why this life includes measures that bypass the funk I'm in to ensure I stop there and then
