Easter week notes

It is Easter with all the extra bits and that in but a little differently because Mom normally would of been in church for easter services and was more the lynch pin of things being as keen on old rituals as I am going back to childhood but obviously that can't happen.

Monday saw me out, not as early as Sunday as that was connected to the great leak drama what not anything like as bad as first seemed necessitating a home visit by a plumber but timed well to avoid showers plus a spot of thunder.

For as many years as I recall doing this blog there was entry around this ritual sometimes featuring the plushies and hand puppets trying to do a Grinch and steal easter but with bit by bit redecorations this year they've been rumbled!

The Grump tm is taking on some of these little roles and so was responsible for getting this years egg tying that in with the groceries with three mini white chocolate bars

He did also pick up this smaller egg with white buttons inside of it but doesn't sadly make a Tux the Penguin but given he managed that without a prompt last week we can give him pat on the back.

First off on the munchies were the white buttons being the smaller one of the two where I started on the bigger one on Monday morning after going past the school I remember well.

I also had some white Chunkies - a kind of white chocolate crunch bar from an aunt like figure in my life.

I hope people had a happy Easter.

April thoughts regarding this blog

The old account at another site has been taken down that used to link up to this blog simply because there's little real mileage in keeping something next to nobody reads and some who used to just changed their belief systems and wipe comments and followings as they don't accept the idea that different points of view are valid.

This is staying for as and when I feel inclined to post anything fresh that didn't fit in anywhere else but I have to be honest and say it's not my priority either in blogging having two others that take chunks of my time or in my overall life which really should be more around reestablishing a in real life life which includes spending more time out.

Things did get rather out of balance before the end of last year even when it just seemed "staying connected" as people put it was taking up time I needed to be actually doing things with people and places, while others wanting life documented that ironically prevented that real life activity from happening.

Given much of that stems from my actual needs including a need for rest this simply has to be however many pleas people may make.

There will some expanded posts from elsewhere in between the odd unique thing but that is how things will be going

Challenges

Adults are complex and not necessarily logical species having had to deal with "The Grump" who started at one point going off about not not being cut out to run a home, failing of "seriously thinking about selling up" and later on starts off on a different track.

Really if you're struggling unless you're going to a place you are having meals, laundry and  cleaning provided you'll still have all of that deal with whither you move to a one or two bedroomed flat or another house.

You'd need to sort out EVERYTHING in it ready to move, being prepared to spend a lot of time visiting properties and putting your bids in, sort out bridging loans to move stuff  and so on for a person who has a big railway, audio and ham radio gear on top everyday household stuff.

It wouldn't solve anything and Mom's effects still would need to be cleared and I suspect emotionally speaking really he's spent more time than desirable working on that for near enough two whole days about from dinner break then a good half day fixing a light fitting that needed changing due to water damage in what would of been her room.

That's what's really eating him although he won't admit it: Tired and emotional for dealing with it and *anything* is a trigger.

Round two was more the "need some co-operation" round where I'd be the first to admit I didn't understand his Landfill and Recycled bags and which was the Landfill Bin which lead to some mix ups and leaving a wastebin liner unemptied which he did.

To hear him talk if he was going to  hospital for a few days, the house would be overrun with unemptied bins needing a extensive clean up and if so I'd have move to a residential home.

That ignores a few things like I would ask for for some guidance from the neighbours if I wasn't sure what was to go where but it would end up in a bin outdoors, If I couldn't push the bin I'd ask for help with that and that really the evidence submitted doesn't back that up.

As for being busy with his room, that's nothing to do with me although I did  apologize for not getting a few things wrong and would clear this one bag once a week that takes a matter of minutes really if that helps.

Just as ever he ignored the tidying I had done.

Still, prepared to improve but as I say much of this is really about other stuff.

A short message from me

Hello and welcome to the week from the old Windows 10 laptop powered by Opera with its built in VPN rather than the usual Chromebook as that had died with the Wifi section just refusing to comeback on no matter what.

The original plan was have it replaced but having bought a new replacement as I thought, the seller failed to dispatch it and did not respond to my messages so it never arrived so I opened a case with Ebay who on Monday gave me a full refund and hopefully suitably chastise him.

Despite not being the sharpest crayon in the pack at times and a bit prone to not doing wot I should I had half expected him not to respond so had ordered up another and it arrived mid yesterday afternoon where I put it on charge like you do before setting it up which is child's play which makes sense when you're an adult little schoolgirl.

Now when it turns on, it has my name on it.

This week's round up

Spring was indeed about to spring until the snow a few days ago here deluging the daffodils and delaying the cherry blossoms from coming out which is a spring ritual I just adore so we got the shopping all in on Thursday and we did the reminder on Monday.

It didn't help that much we had heavy rain and very strong winds that delayed me getting out the early afternoon and even then you struggled to hear the traffic over the noise of the wind blowing all around you.

Fortunately I do have some waterproof coats of varying degrees of warmness to take account of that on top overall temperature.

It was announced late Monday who the 42nd Blue Peter presenter was going to be following Richie Driss's departure last Friday watched as ever by me, long term super fan of the show.

Falkirk, Scotland resident and Paralympian sports star Abby Cook, aged 20, was appointed with a challenge from the get go of abseiling down a viaduct which should prove interesting as she's a racer by sport.

I'm looking forward to seeing her present on the show more as the weeks go bye which is shown on CBBC on Friday's at 5pm.

I had wondered why I hadn't seen one of my monthly prep school age magazines this year but with other ultimately more important stuff to attend to had left that very much on the back burner only to find the magazine distributor had decided to discontinue supplying it although it's still being produced.

I've set a new subscription up with another UK magazine magazine distributor to pick up where I was with it so within a few weeks normal service will be resumed while in the meantime this weeks Beano came Monday which helps given this is the week of the funeral.

A few thoughts in March

Someone got that right not because getting older by the year from birth is a bad thing but rather it's the reduction of your life down to just the most purposeful and economic, with anything that might be spontaneous and fun extracted.

There are times when things get muddled in like the way much of my birthday has been overshadowed by all the other stuff to the point we are even struggling to find anywhere to put my cards and people don't feel like celebrating it so the rituals of the past are broken, so no meal together.

It's like things are on semi hold but what was paused won't return after it's all over after next week either so we'll see if by this time next year things return cos I certainly could do with it.

Escaping

Trying to find your way back to your little self after both the pause shortly after the start of the year and being surrounded by the cards plus phone calls regarding arrangements is hard going as much as I feel like just curling up half moon shape on the floor for some more tactile play or other suitable little interaction.

Sometimes it feels too much.

Paper dolls was one things I did like at the time, creating new looks and adventures armed with scissors.

Switch off, work with your imagination and just make something that may feature in play - that's always better with at least another person - in a different world.

Literally go back in time and dress more younger, perhaps in ways you have not in ages and let that side right out while colouring in princesses or perhaps watching something aimed at younger children, losing yourself in it.

To me that makes more sense apart from making the most of this years reduced opportunities to "play" with others after missing one last year resulted in missing out on all the others that had been decided.

Paws crossed for a few months time.
