Welcome to March

Well, we've had a change of month having changed all three calendars round on Sunday and marked St. David's Day being a  month that always seems busier and longer than last month with more events taking place.

Of course on thing we can't ignore is the current Iran/US and Israeli conflict across the Middle East  which while we don't get into politics on this blog is quite a worry both from a humanitarian point of view and also for the impact on the world economy.

March has it's anniversaries, Mom's birthday had she still been alive toward the end of the month, never forgotten and always in mind.

At the end of the week, and missing a direct blog entry due to scheduling is my birthday full details as ever I'm not fully informed of when comes to any presents and events which is very much how things have been since I was a child as much as some would say "Yes very much like one even now!"

Now what could better then for me to be given a goodly birthday spanking wrapped in much loved cuddle and lots of affection?

Just the thing for gurls like me.

Birthday thoughts

There was a birthday that was mentioned on the regular blog cos of course with everything around the  funeral last year couldn't happen, both for emotional reasons, people not being in the frame of mind to celebrate anything apart from there being literally no space for cards as the window and fireplace were taken up with bereavement cards.

There were a number of presents such as the latest Now Millennium set that builds on the original two cd per year series of 1998/9 but with a booklet inside that does talk about the year and the music which was a reason for getting cos in general I din't bother too much with "The Charts" then just buying cds by artists I liked.

Time has a habit of moving on and at this point details from then beyond Crazy Frog are starting to get a bit hazy with me so having a sample of hits and key facts helps to keep my recollection of that period better being before I started blogging as I only had the internet around 2004 for local government work based reasons makes sense not least with some of my memory issues.

The other thing was a few more records in a speciality so-called "audiophile" record re-issue series being issued to mark the 75th year of Atlantic Records part these days of the mighty Warner Records group where they are recut from either the original tapes or the next best thing if that couldn't be done to very high standards and at 45 rpm to give the music more space in the groove to move (and be heard).

That usually means what was a single record now becomes two, the weight per disc tends around 180 grams rather than under 120 in 80's and 70's and in high quality jackets with stiff card.

They were just great presents.

Weekly reflection

This week as the weather has been  better for getting about so I've managed to get out and actually walk a bit further than normal getting close to what I was capable of several years back so that's been great this week.
It's so great to start to wake up to the dawn chorus now that it's getting a bit bit bright and for longer because it sounds so peaceful and when I'm out walking often I stop and listen out for them spotting them in the trees or just overhead near the fields.
Also the people who look after our Inland Waterway have been at work so I've been over there on my travels talking with them and other people about too.
It's strange but all of this actually leads to me feeling less stressed and from that much less likely to lash out at people when it just all becomes too much emotionally and when it comes to stimulation too which is a great help not just to me but Mom too.
As I'm typing this out today it's her day - what the natives here call "Mothering Sunday" - so I got her a card and present while I was in town late last week while I was out exchanging a gift voucher toward a present for my birthday.
I've also been thinking about my over 18 Tumblr and were I want to take it  so spent sometime while out thinking that through and am working on ensuring it is targeted in and around exactly what I want.
I think I'm doing good now.
Just as this blog is about to go to press, it's been announced Professor Steven Hawking has died who like me is a quadraplegic.
He's been battling Motor Neurone disease since being diagnosed with it at university   being a electric wheelchair user but although he required considerable personal support, he went on to complete a lot of research into the Cosmos to acclaim from his peers and can be credited with helping to popularize science and break down the idea that disabled people cannot contribute to society.
He was an inspiration to me and countless others of our generation.

Birthday reflections

This day is quite an important one for me that I'll blog the other bits of separately but for me this is the start of another fifty-two weeks in my life and the end of the last period of fifty-two weeks although like many littles and middles I never really leave the sense of being the age in this headspace I am. I never really feel older cos I hit my developmental limits a very long time ago.
It's a messy thing cos of the mess that is my family whose many degrees in messiness often took much of the magic of having a day of your own away never mind the petty-mindedness of the arguments they'd pick  on and around of that day.
Mom always say I’m the one that can be counted on to think more about what needs to happen, what would make a difference for the better and at least try to work with it.
Much happened in that twelve months some of which I have written about here and elsewhere but it's been the biggest period where I had real guidance in my life talking through both my longer term problems with plans and shorter more immediate needs.
It's also been the period where the rules and structures in my life have changed dramatically as there has been a very real rolling back of my post legal childhood authority  and status to approximate tween/early teen level.
Part of that is from the recognition that while it is fine for me to have an input and a say in things, because I do mess up in ways I don't necessarily learn from because my ability to do so is limited allowing me the final say just wasn't working. Someone who is more responsible needs to.
The other part is that in order see to it the rules and structures I agreed to are being kept they need to have the authority to impose them and discipline me for breaches so I learn to follow them and that's that in outline that's much such a big difference to my life this last twelve months.
So on this day I wish to thank those people in my life who have provided that guidance be they friends who stepped in saying what needed to said to help me or those who are more directly involved working through issues, for each and every reprimand and spanking you gave me when I needed it.
You did right by me helping me become more responsible over our last twelve months and here's to the next twelve where you'll help me further cos I know you all care about me and that's why all this happens.

Babygirl

Exploring the world of Tumblr, I feel there's an awful lot of this in me.
